NAC loosening the requirement "certification not needed to apply" is a smart recruitment strategy: they open the door to college students, former swimmers and amateur swim teachers with potential, then train them to the proper standard. Thus the local coaching supply is rejuvenated and thickened. Looking deeper, this model creates a knowledge-transfer pipeline. If a successful candidate wants to start in fall 2026, this process needs to begin at the application stage, not after the start date. NAC probably knows that, so it offers help. But in clubs without resources, administrative barriers are still one reason part-time assistant positions remain open for long stretches.
